Cin-shuan Cynthia Ting, MS, OTR/L
I am a board certified pediatric occupational therapist with 6+ years of experience, and have worked with children/teens/young adults in the Greater Seattle area for the past 5-years. I support my clients in the areas of motor skill development, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and executive function skills to help them gain confidence at school, at home and in the community. I also provide services for teens/young adults who are navigating the next chapter of their life and want to gain functional independent life skills (e.g., money management, job skills, household tasks, etc.) as well as understand their sensory needs and how to advocate for themselves in the community.
I specialize in working with individuals with a diverse range of diagnoses and symptoms such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dyspraxia, sensory processing disorder, motor delays, dysgraphia, dyslexia and executive function and self-regulation challenges that often co-exist. In my practice I believe that behaviors are a response to underlying skill and sensory differences and is a individual’s way of communicating their need to others. I work with the client and family to identify what the behavioral responses are trying to tell us about their body’s needs and how that impacts their ability to participate in daily activities. The goal is always to empower clients and families to understand their own brains and bodies to the fullest, so that they are able to advocate and utilize strategies across environments to do the things they want and need to do.
Some of my additional areas of interest/practice include:
Primitive reflex integration
Use of assistive technology to support dysgraphia/dyslexi/ independent life skills
Supporting those individuals who may have received a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD later in life (adults included).
Environmental modification strategies to support executive function skills
